Chris Paulsen started working for his father in 1976, at the age of 16 as an apprentice and was trained in the same classical methods as his father was. By the time Chris was 18, he was a framing foreman and from there he was trained into a Master Carpenter. Chris was able to work as a carpenter and attend the University of Washington in the school of Architecture. After finishing his studies, he made a career choice to follow in his father’s foot steps. By the time Chris was 25, he was promoted to Superintendent of large projects specializing in multi million dollar homes.
In January of 2000, Tom Paulsen, at the relative young age of 77, decided it was time to retire. Chris renamed the company Paulsen Construction, Inc. and continues in the family tradition of building only the finest quality homes. Like his father, Chris also prides himself on his sensitivity to his client’s concerns, the highest regard for quality and craftsmanship, and the ability to manage well all of the countless elements of a construction project.
